Stephanie Beck is at my Party

Over to you Stephanie!
Stress? What Stress?
Party season in the Beck household runs from the end of September to the end of the year. It seems like every single week we have a big thing we need to either host or contribute to. I love that—we are loved and love many—it’s a beautiful thing. The only in-house party tip I have is to wash hardwood floors with a mix of vinegar and water—the suckers shine like nobody’s business (and my floors are old and not that special, but boy do they perk up).
Now, the very best party tip I’ve ever heard came from one of the moms at my church. She’s very ‘type A’ and she’s amazing at getting things done, looking great while doing it and having the most wonderful attitude. Around Christmas one year, while our daughters were in choir together, she and I were watching for the umpteenth time and we started whispering about holiday plans.
She was worrying over going to her recently divorced father’s home for Christmas dinner. They’d gone for Thanksgiving and it had been like eating in a man cave. She’d done her best to spruce up what he had and make it a sharable, enjoyable meal, but already was dreading the Christmas meal where there would be more guests. We shared our best tips and I think she was feeling better with her plans (a quick trip to the department store for a big case of dishes while they were on winter clearances and a call to the grocery store to have it catered—bam).

So in all of this, the best tip came to light. I’ve fallen back on this one a few times.
“You know, we hosted a bunch of friends one night and I really wanted to enjoy myself, not be my normal crazy self so attuned to details. My husband brought home wine. That helped. I think I’ll bring wine to Christmas dinner too.”
Great Tip. Quality Tip. Grand Tip. Maybe one of the best tips. Ever.
All the best,
Stephanie Beck

Comfort turns to passion and Poppy learns what life could be like in the arms of not one, but three men who love her. But what happens when the pink line on a pregnancy test doubles and she's expecting twins, courtesy of a Paraby? The brothers blow her mind by offering her the family and love she's always longed for. But do they realize what they're in for?
