Birthday Blog Hop!!!

Beachwalk Press Blog Hop – July 11th-13th

Hello and welcome to the bestist l'ill press's birthday blog hop! I've been publishing books with Beachwalk since they opened the doors in July 2011! Time really does fly... wow - Click here for a list of my Beachwalk books.
The theme is the 3 best things about being an author - so here's mine:
1 - Getting to live in my own imagination for the duration of the writing process - this can be a blessing and a curse - but the thrill of getting to the point of writing those two little words, The End is irreplaceable. :D

2 - The other writers and readers. Meeting such a warm embracing community has kept me going though the years - it can be lonely being an author - especially when you're working on a longer novel. To be able to take a break and join a chat on twitter or a forum is an absolute life saver!

3 - Being allowed to spend the days lounging in my pink fluffy negligee and marabou slippers while a group of young men cater to my every whim while I dictate my naughty stories to a stocking clad lady secretary... oh wait... I got stuck in my first answer again :D
Beachwalk Press is sponsoring a grand prize giveaway which is: $100.00 to either Amazon or Barnes and Noble (reader's choice). Just leave a comment on any of the blog stops.
I'm giving an extra prize to a commenter on here - a choice of any of my Beachwalk titles and this original painting. I'll have to post that one ;) Remember to leave your email address if you want to take part in any of the giveaways!

Please remind readers to leave a comment with their email address in the comment.
Below are the blog links to the authors participating:

What to do?!

I'm going to be one!
Well hello there.

Hope you are all feeling fabulous! I've been thinking a lot about what I should talk to you all about.

Like, what would you like to hear from an erotic author. I don't usually write about the naughty stuff on here - I leave that for my books and stories, I guess I must be quite shy in real life!

My big news, oh, I have a few bits of big news...
I joined Pinterest... why have I never done that before??? It's super! You get to share lots of lovely piccies all over the place. I'm called PinTabitha - not many pinboards up yet, but I'm working on it. I keep lots of photos on my phone for inspiration (don't be cheeky, I mean of flowers and things) - so when I can work it out, I'll put them on a mood board.

My first full length erotic novel, A Clockwork Butterfly will be one year old on the 16th of June - I'll be having some bits and bobs going on during the fortnight after - like getting some sexy guests over to my blog and 50% off sale at Beachwalk - you just need to type in ButterflyParty at the checkout - But only from the 16th!!!

I will be reading at the Festival of The Erotic Arts on Thurs 13th! See poster.

More reading to come...  Smut By The Sea  - still time to buy tickets! The place to be in Scarborough on the 22nd of June!

Well, here you have it - I thought I had nothing to say...
Till next time - have a lovely sexy day x x x

A Crossfire of Love's first birthday!

Well, I need to catch my breath before I report back from my adventures at Eroticon 2013 this weekend - so what better way to relax than having a birthday celebration? And what better kind of birthday than a book's!

So here we are with Ella Jade's Crossfire of Love which celebrates its first year published this month - congratulations Ella! x x

I’m celebrating the one year anniversary of the release of my contemporary romance Crossfire of Love. In honor of that milestone my fabulous publisher Beachwalk Press has lowered the price of the book to $1.99. That’s 60% off! You can purchase the novel wherever you buy your eBooks including Amazon, B&N and Are for the entire month of March.
Can an arranged marriage lead to love?
Recent college graduate Gabriella has finally married the man of her dreams, the older, charismatic attorney Lorenzo Martinez. She's had a crush on him for as long as she can remember and always imagined they'd one day find their happily ever after. Unfortunately, they enter into a union arranged by their fathers.
Lorenzo is charming, protective, and loyal to his crime lord father Carlo. When Carlo asks Lorenzo to marry Gabriella he jumps at the opportunity. He's been drawn to her for many years and knows by marrying her he's helping to protect her father.
Gabby is resentful and won't be Lorenzo's charity case. But sparks fly and the couple soon gives into their desire, realizing they were meant to be together.
What happens when Carlo's enemies threaten their future? Will someone get caught in the crossfire?

Excerpt
Lorenzo walked up the porch steps, turning to stare at her. "Are you coming, Gabriella?" No one but Lorenzo and his father called her by her full name. She liked when Lorenzo said it. He'd always made it sound so formal and sexy.
These were the first words he had spoken to her since they left the courthouse. They were married in the chambers of the prestigious Judge John Cartwright. He'd been a family friend of the Martinezes for many years. He was their go-to man whenever they needed something done fast and legally. Well, legal in her new father-in-law's eyes anyway.
She hurried up the steps and followed Lorenzo inside their new home. It was built within a matter of months after she'd agreed to marry him. Carlo wanted them to have their privacy, but he also wanted to keep them close. He didn't trust she'd hold up her end of the bargain, and keeping her on the property was the best way to ensure she wouldn't run.
It was silly, really. How could she run from a family like this? They had ties all over the world. There wasn't any place she could escape to that they wouldn't know about. She was a woman of her word. She said she would marry Lorenzo and she did. She'd find a way to cope. She always had.
Lorenzo pulled his jacket off, poured himself a scotch, and then loosened his tie. "Would you like a drink?"
"No, thank you," she said.
Most brides would be dancing the night away and drinking champagne by this point in their wedding night. She didn't think that was part of Lorenzo's plan.
"I didn't think you'd go through with it." He sipped the amber colored liquid as he looked her over.
"I said I would."
"I know, but when push actually came to shove, I thought you'd run."
"You don't know me that well," she said. "I don't run."
"Good." He smirked as he put the glass to his lips.
Gabby couldn't take her eyes away from those lips. She'd never had the pleasure of having them on her own. Judge Cartwright hadn't asked him to kiss his bride. She hated herself for thinking about him that way.
"You could've stopped this. Why didn't you?" she asked.
As they stood in front of the judge, she kept hoping he'd put an end to the charade and stop the wedding. It didn't make sense to her why he had agreed to marry her. She didn't have a choice. Her father's gambling debts made sure of that. But she didn't understand why he'd allowed things to get as far as they had.
"I was just as trapped as you were." He downed the rest of his scotch.
She didn't believe that. She knew he respected his dad, but she didn't get why he wouldn't have put his foot down and said no to such a life-altering decision.
"You could've told your father no from the beginning. Why would you agree to marry someone if you didn't have to?"
"Look." He shook his head. "It's done now. We're going to have to make the best of it."
"Make the best of it?" She plopped down on the leather sofa. "I'm twenty-two years old. I just graduated from college, and you want me to make the best of it?"
"I know this isn't what you might have wanted, but it is what it is. You agreed, and now it's done. You can't go back on it now. My father won't forgive that."

It's My Birthday!

Get out the bubbly, I'm celebrating!
A year ago today I was ready to chuck in the towel with my writing. I have written many mainstream bits and pieces including poems, short stories and two novels which had limited success (i.e. many rejections- though some were promising...). Anyway - one of my novels contained a steamy sex scene and I wanted to make sure it was a good un (taking it to my writing group wasn't an option ;)) so I sent off a saucy short to Xcite to test the water and see if I could write IT right!
As I mentioned, I was having a bad day, more rejections and big crisis in confidence. I told my man that, that was it, my dream of being a writer was in tatters and I'm giving up. Then I checked my email one last time - and there it was - Tra-lah! A reply from Xcite telling me they'd like to publish Retail Seduction in Kinky Girls.
Now, I'd always had a secret habit of writing naughties for myself, being too shy to buy any - so started to submit other stories. Imagine my joy when more got accepted - I'd found my niche.
But what about writing buddies? I am very social and love talking to other writers, hearing their news and ideas but my local writing group just didn't cater for the kink...
I tentatively looked up erotica on Facebook and I think the first page I liked was Erotica For All. From there I shyly asked other writers who I'd read and admired to be my friends - they did! And are! What a delight.
So now I'm still trying to get rid of these pesky mainstream novels, but working on erotic romance is where it's at for me.
Beachwalk Press took my novella, Mia's Books and it was published in July. Yay!

I have to go now but here's a list of people who make me happy (Among many, many more...) - I will come back and add to this list later - I'm late for a very important date!
